The 2012 Running of the Roses

The Lions Club of Helensville would like to invite the Auckland Community to participate in an event taking place on Saturday 11th February 2012, 3 days prior to St Valentines Day on the Kaipara River in Helensville.
Helensville Lions with the support of the Helensville District Business Association are planning the fourth fund-raising event designed to raise money for local community projects. We are hoping we will also raise the profile of our town throughout the greater Auckland region.

Entry to the race is by the purchase of a ticket - $5.00, which is accompanied by 2 roses, one to keep and one to go into the Running of the Roses. The roses will be released into the river on an outgoing tide, at the Kaipara Cruising Club. The first 6 roses retrieved from the river, at the Kaipara Dairy Factory will win major prizes.
